Frédéric Gueguen was born in Paris. At 12 years old, he went to live in the family house at La Chapelle Vaupelteigne, a village near Chablis. He worked there during all his holidays and week-ends. He was apprentice to his cousin Francis Boudin – at La Chapelle, and with his uncle Jean Durup at Maligny.

After passing three technical school certificates, two in wine growing and wine making and one in agriculture, he became Cellar Master (Maître de Chais) on his uncle's property for 5 years.

In 2002, his marriage to Céline Brocard motivated him in a completely different direction - vineyard management.

In 2003, Bernard et Lucette Trembaly, owners of the Domaine des Chenevières retired.
They chose Frédéric Gueguen to continue and develop the Domain. That year, Frédéric therefore saw his dearest wish come true:
“… follow my wine from the vine to the bottle so as to share with my customers the life of this passionate and diversified occupation.
I had the luck to take over the Domaine des Chenevières thanks to trust that Lucette and Bernard placed in me. They chose me to continue their work but also so as to continue to develop and make the domain prosper.
This growth is possible today thanks to the structural backing of the familiy domain of Celine my wife – the domain Jean-Marc Brocard.”
